My name is Nilab Shakur. I am an American of Iranian descent on my father side. My grandparents were true Shekk'erians
who came to this country in the last century and so I am also a true Shekk'erian. My grandfather spoke Zavalan (Known in Iran as Avassan), our language
which is now sadly dying away. My father was taught it but had renounced the faith when he was 16, refusing to speak it until
he forgot all his knowledge by the time I was born. I was raised with no religion but, as all paths lead to Shekk'er, I had
returned to my rightful place when I became old enough to understand. Sadly, I can only speak a few words of Zavalan and have
so far failed to find a speaker who would teach me as most Zavalan speakers are now very old. I can speak well enough to say
the Shiriya, which was recounted to me by my grandfather when I became of age at 15. Although I am only part
true Shekk'erian, my greatest wish is to find a Shekk'erian wife so that I may pass on my knwoledge to my children.
